GR!ADL Committee Update

Hi everyone!

A long awaited update from the Girls Rock! Adelaide committee.

Things at Girls Rock! Adelaide have been quiet these last 12 months. For joyous reasons, and hard ones too. We welcomed Elli’s baby Alby into the world! Anna got promoted – and married – and is in the process of recording an album! Grace took on a new teaching challenge in the desert and is now back in Adelaide working at Ngutu! Sianne took time away to be with her family through a difficult period of loss and grief, and has found her way back to Adelaide after 7 years in Melbourne. Our little reminder that things can be good and bad and everything all at once. Thank you for your patience.

What will the remainder of 2024 look like for Girls Rock! Adelaide?

As you know, we are a volunteer-run organisation, and after five busy years we’re enjoying some rest. We’re taking our time and that has meant making the tough call to not run Rock Camp this year. We’ll regroup soon to begin figuring out what’s next, but for now we have no program plans in place. We’ll be back in touch as soon as there are updates to share.

Thank you for understanding and being in our corner. Rock Camp would not exist without this unbelievable community and we appreciate your support through the down time too.

For other LGBTQIA+ friendly events and activities, we encourage you to check out Feast Queer Youth Drop-In, AGSA’s Neo program, or Northern Sound System’s Holiday Bands program.

Be kind to yourselves, look out for each other, and keep the DIY spirit alive.

You rock!
